Why - and how to get your ducks in a row. This metaphor apparently originated in
colonial times, with a lawn bowling game called Ten Pins. The short slender pins, when properly
organized, were thought to look a lot like ducks in a row. Ducks don't come by rows naturally and
evidently neither do businesses. There
seem to be a lot of companies lately who can't
align their ducks.
